Our scarves are carefully crafted from 100% silk twill, a precious and delicate fabric. To preserve their beauty and lustre, a few simple yet essential care gestures can be adopted.
Cleaning
For the most controlled care, we recommend entrusting your scarf to a professional dry cleaner.
Dry cleaning is a gentle, water-free method using suitable solvents. It helps preserve the natural fibres, the sheen of the silk and the scarf’s structure over time.
This is the safest option to preserve your piece.
If you choose to wash it yourself, hand washing is preferable to machine washing. Use a gentle product with few chemical components, such as Marseille soap.
The golden rule: wash your scarf in cold or lukewarm water, no warmer than 30°C. Hot water should be avoided, as excessive heat may dull the brightness of the colours, especially on scarves with intense shades.
Drying
We strongly advise against twisting or wringing a silk scarf. To dry it, lay it flat in the open air and away from direct sunlight. Let it rest without rubbing or pressing.
Tumble drying should be avoided to preserve the fibres.
Ironing
Use a low-temperature iron and avoid leaving it still on one area to prevent possible scorching. You may also use the “silk” setting if your iron has one.
It is preferable to iron the reverse side of your scarf and place a clean white cloth over it for protection.
Storage
To avoid creases and discolouration, store your scarf in a box or drawer, away from humidity and sunlight. Avoid storing silk pieces near a heat source, such as a fireplace or radiator, as heat exposure may alter their quality.
If stored in a drawer, adding a cedar ball or a natural moth-repellent sachet can help reinforce their protection.
